Phuket is where people come to train. The island has more Muay Thai camps than anywhere else in Thailand, and in the last few years it has gained proper health clubs with pools, saunas and ice baths. The hard part is distance: a gym in Bang Tao is an hour from Rawai in traffic. So this list tells you where each gym is as well as what it offers. Prices and hours are live from our listings.

How we picked
We chose the gyms with the most complete and verified information in our directory: facilities, opening hours and prices from the gym's own website. No gym paid to appear, and we don't use review scores.
1. Alpha Health Club, Chalong: the most complete gym on the island
Pool, sauna, ice bath, air-con, classes, lockers, showers and parking, open until 10 pm on weekdays. ฿500 for a day pass and ฿2,700 a month, which is remarkable for this list of facilities. If you stay anywhere in the south, start here.
2. LUDUS Sports Complex, Chalong: gym and fight camp in one
A large sports complex on the Chalong training strip: strength gym, pool, sauna, ice bath and a training camp for Muay Thai and MMA on the same site. ฿550 a day or ฿2,500 a month for the gym side.
3. Gym Club Phuket, Thalang: the north's health club
Pool, sauna, ice bath, classes and parking, open 6 am to 10 pm every day. ฿650 for a day pass and ฿3,250 a month. The best-equipped option if you live around Bang Tao, Laguna or Cherngtalay.
4. Palm Fitness, Thalang: the premium pick
A boutique club with pool and sauna in the villa belt of the north-west coast. ฿500 for a day and ฿5,000 a month, the highest monthly price on this list and priced for the residents it serves.
5. Atlas Gym, Patong: the gym for a Patong holiday
Air-conditioned, open 6 am to 9 pm every day, ฿500 for a day pass and ฿2,200 a month. Used to walk-ins, which matters in Patong where most people stay a week.
6. Kamala Gym: pool, sauna and ice bath for ฿1,800
Kamala is quieter than Patong, and its gym is one of the best deals on the island: pool, sauna, ice bath and classes for a ฿400 day pass or ฿1,800 a month.
7. UTime Fitness, Phuket Town: 24-hour access
Staffed hours in the day plus 24-hour access for members, ฿500 for a day and ฿1,950 a month. The option for shift workers and anyone living in or near Phuket Town.
8. Phuket King Muay Thai, Kathu: Muay Thai with air-con
A modern Muay Thai gym near Patong with air-conditioning, sauna and ice bath. ฿500 per session and ฿7,000 a month. A good first camp if the open-air ones look intimidating.
9. AKA Thailand, Chalong: the MMA camp
A full MMA and Muay Thai camp with pool and ice bath on the Chalong strip, used by travelling fighters and serious amateurs. ฿1,000 per day and ฿11,000 a month, training only.
10. Sumalee Boxing Gym, Thalang: the classic camp
A long-running Muay Thai camp with air-conditioned training areas and an ice bath, open Monday to Saturday. ฿500 per session and ฿8,000 a month. One of the camps people return to year after year.
